It is indeed an honour for me to be the elected President of this society for a term of 02 years. The society where it stands today is the untiring efforts of our senior ophthalmologists in this region and all the previous honourable presidents. I hope to take it a step further with the help of all my office bearers and executive committee members.

Being the President, my aim is to look after the interests of the ophthalmologists in our region and to ensure continuous academic activities to keep us abreast the latest happenings in ophthalmology around the world. My utmost priority are the young ophthalmologists and I wish to contribute to improve their academic endeavours under the auspicious of our society.

As the OSP Centre office is being shifted to Islamabad shortly as per the constitutional requirement, I hope to work in conjunction with the Executive Vice President OSP Centre in bringing all the regional ophthalmological societies in harmony.

It was indeed a great achievement to get the 18th Annual Islamabad Congress of Ophthalmology held in April 2015 accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuous Medical Education. This made us the pioneers in international accreditation in Ophthalmology in Pakistan. This would surely go a long way in further improving the standards of our scientific programme.

I hope to work with all the regional societies and OSP Centre to improve the learning opportunities in our field. We also extend open invitation to the foreign societies and delegates to come and contribute in uplifting our academic events and share their immense experiences
